Dear Sir,
I had pursued my MCA in IGNOU. At present I have an idea to write NET/ SET Exam. I would like to confirm if the IGNOU MCA is AICTE approved or not. Sir, please give me response as soon as possible.

Yes MCA degree of IGNOU is approved from the AICTE.

The details of its affiliation from AICTE is available on the last page of its prospectus.
Thus you will be eligible for appearing in any exams.
You will also eligible for applying for government exams.


If you are going to appear for the NET exam then you will be eligible to appear in this exam.

Through this exam you can apply for one at a time.
These are:-

>>Junior Research Fellowship.
>>Lectureship.

Educational Qualification:-
>>You must be passed out in MCA with 55%.
(In case if you are from SC/ST then your minimum marks should be 50%).

Age details:-

For Junior Fellowship:-Your age should not be above 28 years.
You will able to get age relaxations of 5 years if you belong from the SC/ST/OBC .



Exam pattern:-

There will be 3 papers.

Its details:-

Paper 1 :-It will contain 60 questions.You will have to attempt only 50.
Total marks of this exam will be 100.
Total time duration for this exam will be 1 hours and 20 minutes.

Paper 2 :-It will contain 50 questions.All questions are compulsory.
Total marks of this exam will be 100.
Total time duration for this exam will be 1 hours and 20 minutes.

Paper 3 :-It will contain 75 questions.All questions are compulsory.
Total marks of this exam will be 150.
Total time duration for this exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Dear,

Its good that you are planning to do NET/SET after your MCA. Since your MCA degree is through distance learning its weightage will be less but still since you have done it from a reputed institute like IGNOU it has some value.

Since IGNOU is an open university it is not AICTE approved as this approval is given to regular colleges providing technical and professional courses. So your MCA degree from this institute is also not AICTE approved but its valid. IGNOU it itself a name and if you want to write NET/SET exam you are eligible to sit for it.

Yes, IGNOU is approved by AICTE. Not only that,but
it has Affiliations like as under:
1. UGC (University Grant Commission)
2. COL (Commonwealth of Learning)
3. DEC (Distance Education Council)

sir i want to know that is mca course in ignou is approved by aicte and ugc. and after taking the degree of mca from ignou,can i eligible for all government job.

Why companies like TCS, IBM and Wipro not accepting MCA degree from IGNOU?

Yes, IGNOU is AICTE approved.
Whatever the degree you collect after completion of course/program that will be approved by AICTE for sure.
