IGNOU is a central university established by the act of parliament in 1985.
MBA and MCA in I GNOU is approved by AICTE.
The degree you will earn through distance mode doesn't make any differance. You can earn PhD degree after persuing MBA from IGNOU.
Talking of your question of being able to be lecturer in engineering college, MBA has no relation with that. If you want to teach MBA students, then according to AICTE guidelines you will be able to do that after 2 years of industrial experience.

no.only ugc approved.

It is ideal to join a 2 year full time mba course. But since you are a working professional part time mba is fine. IGNOU courses are considered good for pursuing a managerial career line in India. If you are already doing it, then fine.

However it is not highly recommended, if you are looking at having specialization in areas like HR. So you want to specialise in a specific area like HR you could look for more premier institutes like XLRI, Symbiosis which offer distance learning courses for working professionals. You only need to go and attend some contact classes in the institute, rest of the things can be done from your location through web conferencing facility. So if you are really looking at enhancing your career and get into some reputed firm, may be you need to get your MBA from such a top institute.
