Re: Which are the institutes offering LLB distance education
Please refrain from taking admission in any college/university that offers correspondence course in LLB. The simple reason for me asking you that is, Bar Council of India does not recognize any correspondence course.
As per Bar Council of India, correspondence/distance education courses for LLB are not considered valid. The Bar Council of India only accepts only 2 degrees integrated LLB which is 5 years long and LLB which is 3 years long. The difference here is that integrated LLB also includes a bachelor course like Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Science etc. This course can be taken after completing 12th standard. On the other hand LLB is 3 years long and can be pursued only after completing a graduation course. The advantage of pursuing integrated LLB is that it saves your one year of academic studies. Apart from that there is no difference between the two courses. Both holds the same merit. Now coming back to correspondence course, since Bar Council of India does not recognize the course, you will not be allowed to practice in any Indian court as a lawyer. This is a major drawback of the correspondence/distance education degree. Therefore please refrain yourself from applying for correspondence course and instead you should apply for LLB regular course. Below are the requirements. Eligibility 1. A graduation degree in any stream. 2. At least 45 percent marks. 3. SC/ST candidates need 40 percent marks. 4. The age limit is 30 years for LLB. 5. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates. |

Re: Which are the institutes offering LLB distance education
When the Indian Bar Councel is not accepting LLB distance education to practice in any court of India, then why
the LLB distance education has been accepted to run in various institutes and Univerisities in India? Now I am having 46 years of age and I am Ex-service man, I am more interested to do LLB through distance education as it is my life dream. The Indian Bar Councel restricted 30 years age for joining LLB 3 years course as a regular candidate. It is not justifiable, because, education is a right of a citizene of India. Please give me clarification. |
