• National Talent Search Examination 2012

The NCERT conducts the National Talent Search Examination for students studying in class VIII only.

Scholarships

1000 scholarships will be awarded for each group of students appearing for class-VIII examination. The amount of scholarship will be Rs 500/- per month.

Selection Criteria

There will be two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by states/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT.

The States/UTs will also conduct the selection test for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme along with the Stage-I written examination for NTS.

NTSE 2012 Important Dates

Stage I (State)
Last date for submission of Application Form: 31st August, 2011
Examination in Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands: 19th November, 2011 (Saturday)
Examination in all other states and UTs: 20st November, 2011 (Sunday)

Note: Dates for Stage- I examination may vary from State to State.

Stage II (National)
Examination in all states and UTs: 13th May, 2012 (Sunday)
Eligibility Criteria:
Students of Class VIII studying in recognized schools are eligible to apply.

Examination Pattern

The NTSE Exam Pattern for Class VIII will be as follows:

• Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics.
• Stage II examination at the National level will comprise (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics, (c) Interview.

Only those candidates who qualify the written examination at the National Level will be called for interview.

NTSE(National Talent Search Exam) is conducted by NCERT,new Delhi.
This program-me is basically conducted for providing scholarship Amount to the meritorious student of India.This exam is taken every year by NCERT.

To apply for this exam,you will require to meet these Eligibility conditions :-

Educational qualification :- You should be passed out in class 7 from recognized Central/State level board.

Marks :- Your minimum marks in class 7 should be 50%.

Exam Pattern :-

• Mental ability test(MAT).
• Scholastic Ability test(SAT).

Total duration for MAT Exam will be 2 hours and it will contain questions from :-
~General Reasoning.
~English Grammar.
~Basic Mathematics.

Scholastic test will be taken for final selection of candidates.In this exam during selection,exam will include :-
~Personal Interview.
~Project work related to science topic.

Important :-
~After getting finally selected candidate will get Rs 500 per month.

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE):

National Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for 8th Class Students.

H.P Talent Search Examination for 10th class students.

Eligibility for NMMS (8th Class):

Applicants must be regular students in 8th class with 55% marks in previous class i.e 7th class from a recognized board.
5% relaxation for SC/ST/Physically challenged group candidates.

Applicants family income must be 15000/- per annum.

Important Dates:

Last Date for Submission completed Application forms 10th September, 2013.
