Is Mathematics compulsory for joining Indian Army as a Soldier?


Hi, I have completed my Intermediate (12th) Board exams from Commerce stream and I did not had Mathematics also. So, can I join Indian Army? Is Mathematics compulsory for joining Indian Army even as a Soldier?

No, Mathematics is not compulsory subject for joining Indian Army.

Without Mathematics subject in 11th and 12th, you can join Indian Army through NDA Exam.

Actually, through NDA exam you can apply for three wings namely Air Force, Navy and Army. For Air force and Navy, you must have studied Physics and Mathematics. While for Army, there is no requirement of Physics and Mathematics.

So, as you have passed Board Exams from Commerce stream, so you are eligible for NDA exam and join Army wing of NDA.

so should i write the mathematics exam conducted by nda if opting for army
