dear sir , what is the minimum height required for a female candidate of the general category to get into IPS( Indian police service)?

The minimum physical standards is as follows

THe reason why the physical standards are important because once you clear it a rigourous training is give like running for an hour for a stretch of 10 kms climbings..Etc

For IPS the height requirement for Female is 150 Cms unlike that of make which is 165 Cms

For Pahari Female(General) iits 150 Cms is and ST its 145Cm
Chest should be 79 Cm and 5 Cm expansion allowed

Hello friend,
As per upsc rules the general height for a IPS female candidate should be minimum of 150 cm and it ranging to 165 cms.
The fitness of a candidate is must for the IPS selection criteria.
For IPS selection, there are many rounds are there first you have to clear the written test which is very tough as compared to the other exams. Then they took fitness test by chest expansion, the chest must be more than 75cms, 5cms after expansion.
After all finally they took personal interview. So fitness is very crucial round for the selection in IPS.

Minimum height required for a General Female Candidate to get in IPS is 160 cm.

If you are intrested in IPS first you clear all eligibility criteria of IPS.

Age limit-

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year.Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs .

.Number of Attempts

seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

Physical criteria For IPS female-

Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest – Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

The physical standards are important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the NPA, which includes weekly run for 10 k.m. in 60 minutes, route march for 25 k.m. UAC, Horse riding, rock climbing, assault course, PT obstacles, rope climbing etc.

For IPS-

Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

The minimum physical standards for female for applying in UPSC exam is as follows:

*Height:
150cm(for pahari female it is 145cm).

*Chest:
79cm.

*Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

*Ear:
Good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

*Nasal:
Candidate should not stammer while speaking.

The application forms are now available. The last date of submitting the completed application form is 21.03.2011

*Date of Prelim exam is 12.06.2011

If you qualify, you can sit for the Main exams to be held on 29.10.2011

For IPS-
Height of Female candidate:
Female 150 cm for General Category(Pahari Female) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Minimum height is 150 cm for Women.

Min Chest girth fully expanded is 79 cm for Women with an expansion of 5 cm

Also you should be an graduate with age between 21 to 30 years.
