Re: Minimum passing criteria for NET entrance exam?
NET which stands for the National Eligibility Test was introduced to improve the quality of education in government colleges. While there is a section which opposes this entrance exam, it has full backing of the teacher's association.
It was the idea of Ministry of Human Resources and Development to have entrance exam to select candidates for lectureship/school teachers. While NET was introducted for lecturers, similarly TET was introduced for school teachers. The purpose of NET is to select candidates for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. It is conducted by the University Grants Commission in June and December of every year. There are 3 written tests in the National Eligibility Test. They will be related to the subject you have chosen. You must not fail in any of the 3 written tests. NET Eligibility 1. Nationality: Indian citizens only are allowd. 2. Qualification: Master degree is at least required. 3. Final year students are allowed to appear. 4. Marks: You should be 55 percent or more marks. 5. Relaxation: SC/ST need 50 percent marks. 6. Relaxation: There isn't any for OBC. 7. Final year students will get 2 years to submit degree/mark sheet. 8. Subject: It depends on the post graduation course. 9. Age Limit: 19 to 28 years to apply for JRF. 10. Relaxation: 3 years for OBC. 11. Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST. 12. Age Limit: Lower age is 19 years but no upper age limit for lectureship. |
