Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
dear friend
If you are interested to get admission in M.tech in IIT's, then you have to scored minimum 60% marks in your B.tech. The admission in M.tech in IIT's are based on GATE score, and if you have scored more than 300 marks in your GATE entrance exams, then you will get admission in IIT. And if you are interested to get admission in M.tech in IIT's without GATE score, then you have to scored atleast 75% marks in your B.tech only then you will get direct admission in IIT's. But, if you have scored more than 300 marks in your GATE exams, then definately you will get admission in M.tech in IIT. But you have to face the Interview, After clear the Interview you will get admission in M.tech in IIT's.............. |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
Dear friend
do not be confused. If you score well in GATE exam, then certainly you will get admission in IIT for M.Tech .There is no any such type of criteria that you have to secure certain percentage of marks in B.Tech. If you want to get admission in IIT ,the only criteria is that you have to secure percentile greater than 95. So labour hard. Best of luck. |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
hi friend,
I dont know why previous posts are misdirecting you, there is one way to get in IIT for MTech which is only good GATE score, no other mean(eg getting good marks in BTech like 75% or 80%..) will never be a criterian for admission in MTech course. One more thing you cant even get admission in MTech with score 300 unless you are a sc/st candidate and the branch you are taking is not much common. Otherwise atleast score of 600 is necessary for admission in IITs. There is no marks requirement has been stated in GATE brochure. They require only a valid btech pass candidate. |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
you have to secure a good percentile in GATE to take admission in IIT. there is no minimum marks for B.tech to take admission in M.tech in IIT. but you should secure a good marks also in b.tech. otherwise you will face problem at the time of recruitment. there are so many company those want a student who have minimum of 60% marks in his total career. so if you get less marks in b.tech you will be unable to get job from these company. so study well in b.tech and get good marks also at the same time prepare yourself for GATE so that you can get chance in IIT. all the best.

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
Hello friend,
If you are interested to get admission M.tech in IIT's, then you have to score minimum 60% marks in your B.tech as per your university cut off percentage. M.tech in IIT's is based upon only the GATE score, and if you have scored a better percentile in your GATE entrance exams, then you will get admission in IITs. But you have to face the Interview, basically the interviewer selects those candidate who scored a good percentage in B.Tech so that for the differentiating you from those candidates , you've to give unique performance in your interview and for that you've to prepare well for the core papers. After clear the Interview you will get admission in M.tech in IIT's. Best of Luck |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.tech to M.Tech in IIT after scoring good in GATE?
After you do well in gate, you will have to get admission in IITs and for that you have to have a minimum of 60 % in your qualifying Examination. Inb most cases 60% is very easy to get and so it is not a very stringent condition. In IITs, you get a chance of opting for P.H.D. after the 1 st year if your CGPA is 8.0 or above.
