Is it necessary for an ECE student to learn programming languages to get job in future?
Is it necessary for an ECE student to learn programming languages to get job in future? Is it really mandatory? I keep hearing from some people that it is needed but is it really necessary? Can you please guide me with the details on the same?

It depends in which sector you want to take job. If you want to get job in govt. sector/ PSU companies, there is no need to learn programming language. You have to prepare your core subjects very well. For getting job in ECE core companies such as BEL, ISRO etc you have to undergo a written exam followed by Interview. It does not matter whether you have learnt any programming language or not. You can increase your chance for getting job in govt jobs if you qualify GATE exam with good score.
**If you want to get job in private companies/ IT companies then you must have knowledge of programming language such as C, C++, Java, VLSI, Matlab, VHDL etc. The main reason is that if you get job in private companies you are directly or indirectly related to programming part. So, Companies recruit you easily if you have better understanding of programming language. |
