Dear friends, I would like to know that what is overall passing marks in ICAI CPT? What is the basis of calculation and what is negative marking? Will my full marks be deducted as negative marking or only a portion of my goes as negative marking?

In ICAI CA CPT Exam, you will have to face 200 questions of 1 mark each i.e. total 200 marks.

In First Session, following two subjects exam will be conducted i.e.

• Fundamentals of Accounting - 60 questions - 60 marks
• Mercantile Law - 40 questions - 40 marks

In Second Session, following two subjects exam will be conducted, i.e.

• General Economics - 50 questions - 50 marks
• Quantitative Aptitude - 50 questions - 50 marks

As per ICAI, candidate must secure at least 30% marks in each subject and 50% in aggregate in all subjects to pass CA CPT Exam.

For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded.
For each incorrect answer, there is negative marking of 0.25 mark.
