Is NTSE held for 10th class students too or only for 8th class?

I am sorry but there have been modifications in rules of NTSE from 2006.
Before 2006, all students studying in Class 10th in any type of recognized school were eligible to appear at the state level examination from the state in which the school is located.
But from 2006 onwards, a separate examination for Class VIII was started.
From 2008-2009 '''National Talent Search examination'' is being held only for class VIII.

yes NTSE is for 8th std. only. earlier it was for 10th std. also but now it is for 8th std. only.

we can give it once in our life.

Hii I have passed out 8th standard and i wiil reach classc 8th, i want to give NTSE exam. It is my eager desire.Is NTSE ONLY FOR 8TH STANDARD STUDENTS? Please tell me

Yes NTSE is only for 8th standard students.
There are three levels i.e. State Level, National Level and then Interview.

But now there are some modifications in it.
Now there is no Interview level in NTSE.

Don't feel be happy.In NTSE, if you pass, they will give₹500 - >₹2000 but opnly one chance in life. many people in India don't know this think positive. Think that you are fresh.Now you don't know about NTSE ok.. be cheerful. I too wrote it I worked very hard. but no use... according to actual answers,I have to get but my fortune reversed and the key turned reverse to me. Bad luck... any way. Cheer others like me. Write any exam taking not so serious. If it comes, then enjoy. Expect less and feel happy if you get more.

The important dates for NTSE 2012:

1. Start date for sale of NTSE forms is 1st August 2012
2. Last date for submission of completed NTSE application form is 31st August 2012. However it may vary from state to state
3. Stage-1 NTSE exam will be conducted on Sunday 18th November 2012. However for Mizoram, Meghalya, Nagaland and Andaman & Nicobar Islands the stage-1 exams will be conducted on Saturday 17th November 2012.
4. Stage-2 NTSE exam will be conducted on Sunday 12th May 2013. The dates may vary from state to state. Further, the candidates who qualify the 2nd round written exams will be intimidated by post about the dates for interviews.

Candidates must be a class Xth student from a recognised university.
Candidates must have a 60%marks in the previous year's annual examination.

And yes 8th standard students is for NTSE.
