sir/madam i m a student of b.tec (e.c.e) 2008-2012. i m confuse about gate & cds exams. which one will be benificial. because the dates of both the exam are clashing & i m confuse about it plz give me suitable direction.

GATE and CDS both have different and respective importances. It totally depends on you what kind of futures..

GATE would give you an opportunity to study Masters program, or even get into some of the PSE organizations ;
whereas CDS is a totally different field.

According to me, you should go for GATE. Take up any masters program, or with the help of that score, get into a PSE and secure your life.

I am a student of B.Tech(Computer Science) final year..i have filled the examination form of CDS and GATE and unfortunately, the exam dates of both the papers are clashing (12/2/2012).. As i am also interested in army..please suggest which one would be more beneficial for me and for my future

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. This Entrance Exam will be conducted in order to give admission to the candidates to M.Tech course. This exam will jointly be conducted by all IITs.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. This exam is quite opposite to GATE Exam.

Through CDS Exam, you will be able to join various defence services like
Indian Army
Naval Academy
Air Force Academy etc.

Both the exams will be conducted once in a year.

Each and every entrance exam will be having its own importance.

Once Entrance Exam will make you eligible for higher studies where as other entrance exam will provide you job opportunity.

It will not be right for the candidates to opt for 2 important Entrance Exams at a time. Please do not do this again.

Due to this, you can not carry out your preparation for both the exams at a time.

Job you will not get in next year also. But if there is academic gap, it will be a trobule to get the job.

So, put your full fledged efforts towards preparation of GATE Exam.
