For state civil services exam-, either select the subjects of your graduation or take humanity subjects like pub administration and sociology, which have a small and intresting syllabus. For IAS- wait for the new pattern declaration as it is in news that optionals will be removed by next year, so just prepare yourself with GK and GS. gud luck!! |

IAS stands for INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES to be an IAS officer one should appear for Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year. Those candidate have completed graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam. But your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule. The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.Also you must be in citizen in India. The optional subject are- • Agriculture • Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science • Anthropology • Botany • Chemistry • Civil Engineering • Commerce and Accountancy • Economics • Electrical Engineering • Geography • Geology • History • Law • Management • Mathematics • Mechanical Engineering • Medical Science • Philosophy • Physics • Political Science and International Relations • Psychology • Pubic Administration • Sociology • Statistics • Zoology You can choose those subject which are scoring like History , Geography ,Philosophy , Pol Sc but this selection depend on you. You can choose the subjects s per your strength . State level civil service exam have included different different subject so you can choose these subject which are good for understanding . |

If you are giving the UPSC Civil services Exams.
Than in this exam there are three stages: PRELIMS MAINS INTERVIEW In the Prelims Stage there are two papers of General studies. These papers are in Objective Mode These Papers are common for all the candidates. If you clear the Prelims exams than in Mains Exams you have to choose two papers as optional papers from the below list of subjects. Subjects should be chosen keeping in mind your strenghts in that subject.
