TNPSC (Preliminary exam)
General Knowledge 3hrs. 300 marks (Objective type) TNPSC (Main Exam) General Studies-I 3 hrs. 300 marks (Descriptive type) 1. Modern history of India and Indian culture 2. Current events of national and international importance 3. Statistical analysis , graphs and diagrams 4. Social problems and other current sensitive issues General Studies-II 3hrs 300 marks (Descriptive type) 1. Indian polity 2. Indian economy and geography of India 3. Role and impact of science and technology in the development of India 4. Tamil language, Tamil society, its culture and heritage 5. Tamil Nadu administration |

Hi,
For TNPSC Group 1, Prilims, The Preliminary Examination will be in Single Paper of objective type in the Subject “General Knowledge” (Degree Standard)of 3 Hours duration having 200 questions,with a maximum of 300 marks.The question paper will be set both in Tamil and English. Main and Oral, Gereral Studies paper 1 - 300 marks - 3 hours Gereral Studies paper 2 - 300 marks - 3 hours Interview & Record - 80 marks - ------- Total - 680 marks (Minimum Qualifying mark for selection- 272marks) For more details, Check the tnpsc website- www.tnpsc.gov.in All the best. |

It's a mystery ......!
no one knows that what will be the exam pattern of next year's TNPSC as they used to change it frequently and they never keep it fix even for a couple of years .. Till 2001 , the paper was rather easy but the paper conducted in 2007 was very tough . In 1998 , there were 32 questions asked from economics subject but now they use to ask 10-20 answers and that too differs every year . You need to work very hard and just try on focusing all of your concepts and try to optimize your complete knowledge or it will be much better if you can avail a guide for it i.e. a coaching institute or teacher . Syllabus is just what you studied in school or you can also refer to book authored by R.K.Agrawal . A question paper is attached along with the sample OMR sheet which will be very helpful to you , go through it ....! Best of luck !!! |

Frnds I am Nathan,Pls clear my doubts....... How much marks i need to pass the prelims of TNPSC group-1 (G K) exam. i want to know the approximate marks out of 300 to enter next level,also tell me the previous year (2010) cutoff .
