dear friend:-
pcm is very necessary for nda exam.
pcm means physics, chemistry and math.....
a candidate without having pcm is not eligible for the test.
a person having marks greater than 70% in +2 is also eligible for the test.

good luck

No its not Like that even a commerce , arts and Medical guy also can write NDA Exam.NDA i.e National Defense Academy which is conducted twice every year by upsc. Eligibility to write this Exam is 10+2 passed or appearing for final Exams.
Education Qualification must be 10+2 with at least 50% , even a Guy appearing for Final Exam can also write this Exam. But you must be 16 half to 19 years of age.
One more Criteria also applicable to this if you are Giving priority to Air Force and Naval Academy then you must be having physics and Maths as a Compulsory subject in 10+2 Level. But for Army you can have anything to Get into it.
So if you desire to Get into Air Force or Navy then Go for Science because in Science stream you will find Both Maths and Physics subjects.
Good Luck

Hello friend .....

Candidates can apply to the NDA entrance exam belonging to any stream whether it is science , commerce ,medical or arts .....any one can apply but one must have completed or are going to be just completed (appearing) from the recognized board ...

But then if you want to go for the air force or the naval then you have to have maths and physics in the 12th board as the compulsory subjects ..
And for the army anyone can apply who have passed the 12th board exam ...

The age limit for the NDA exam is 16.5 - 19 years ..

And the NDA exam is conducted twice a year by the UPSC ....

This year the NDA I exam was held on 17.04.2011 (SUNDAY) and the NDA II will be held on 21.08.2011 (SUNDAY)..

for the other details you can have a look at the website of the UPSC ::
http://www.upsc.gov.in
so best of luck

Hello,
After passing class 12 a candidate can opt for NDA if he had taken Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics as the main subjects. So Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics combination is necessary for pursuing NDA.
Best wishes....

for giving the nda exam, the only requirement is that the student must have maths as an compulsory subject in 11th and 12th. physics and chemistry have nothing to do with it.
also there is an age limit for giving the exam of below 18 years.
if you are having these requirements, then you are eligible to give the exam

Dear NDA aspirant,

NDA stands for National Defence Academy.

PCM is not compulsory for applying NDA Exam.

Even a Commerce Student or Arts student can also apply for NDA Exam.

But they can apply for Army Wing of NDA only.

According to Eligibility Criteria of NDA Exam:

>> Only Unmarried Male Candidates are eligible to appear for this exam.

>> Age limit of the candidate must be between 16.5 to 19 years.

>> Candidate must be 10+2 passed/appearing from any stream i.e. PCM (for all wings of NDA), Arts/Commerce (for Army Wing of NDA only).

How To Apply for NDA Exam:

>> Only Online Applications are available for NDA Exam.

>> Candidates will have to visit upsconline.nic.in

There is no hard and fast rule that you need to have physics, chemistry or biology to give NDA. But there are certain wings of NDA where physics and mathematics at 10+2 level is needed. I am discussing the eligibility criteria here in details. Please read it carefully.

Union Public Service Commission conducts the National Defense Academy exam or NDA Exam twice a year in the months of April and September. By giving this exam you can enter the following academies:-
  • Indian Military Academy
  • Naval Academy
  • Air Force Academy

NDA exam is only for the unmarried male candidates of India. While staying in the NDA for training you wont be allowed to get married. On doing so you will no longer be able to stay there and thus you will be asked to leave. It should be remembered that this exam is not for the girls.

Eligibility Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy:- For the Indian Military Academy you just need to pass H.S. or its equivalent from a recognized board as mentioned earlier. Here your subject combination at 10+2 level does not matters.

Air Force Academy & Naval Academy:- You have to pass 12th standard successfully from a recognized board but in addition to that they need to have physics and mathematics as their compulsory subjects at 10+2 level.

Age Criteria:- 16.5-19 years.

Selection Procedure:-

The selection procedure to give this exam includes:-
  1. Written Examination
  2. Physical Test by SSB
  3. Intelligence/Personality Test

Exam Pattern:-

1. Mathematics (2.5 hours)- 300 marks
2. General Ability Test (2.5 hours)- 600 marks

Physical Standards:-
  • The minimum acceptable height is 167.5 cms. For Air force 162.5 cms is required.
  • There is a height relaxation of upto 2.5 cm is available. For the Navy the relaxation goes up to 5 cm.
  • Chest should be well developed and fully developed chest should not be less than 81 cms.
  • After full inspiration the minimum range of expansion should be 5cms.
  • No diseases in the bones or joints of the body should be there.

Hope this helps :-> :->
