Sir/Madam, I am preparing for 10th Board exam from CBSE Board. I am good in musical instrument. However, I want to join Air Force Group-Y. But my eyesight is weak. So, is it possible for me to join Air Force Group-Y or not?

The eyesight requirements
*6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye for Ops Assistant
*For Admin Assistant, 6/36 each eye correctable to 6/9 each eye
*For Auto Technician , 6/12 for each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye
*For IAF(S) , unaided visual aucity of 6/6
*For musician, 6/36 each eye correctable to 6/9 each eye.
There is no official restriction on the number of attempts for Group X and Y exam.

To join the Indian Air Force (IAF) as a Group Y tradesman, there are certain eligibility criteria that need to be met, including physical standards. According to the IAF medical standards, candidates should have 6/12 vision in each eye separately or corrected to 6/6 in one eye and 6/18 in the other eye. In addition, candidates must not have color blindness or night blindness.

If a 10th CBSE student has weak eyesight and does not meet the above-mentioned medical standards, they may not be eligible to join the Air Force as a Group Y tradesman. However, there are other ways to join the IAF, such as through the technical trades or non-technical trades, and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the trade and level of entry.
