Is it possible to do MBBS on the basis of B.Sc degree and become a Gastroenterologist?

Hi, I have completed B.Sc but now wish to do MBBS and specialize in Gastroenterology branch. Is it possible? Can I proceed with MBBS? Will I get any exemption based on B.Sc?

To get admission in MBBS course, you have to appear and qualify in NEET. It is conducted by NTA.

The eligibility to get admission in the course is that candidate must have passed or appearing for 12th in PCB with minimum 50% aggregate.

The minimum age limit is 17 years. There is no upper age limit to get admission in the course.

So, you have to appear and qualify in the examination to get admission in any recognised institutions.

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and the minimum education required to pursue the same degree course is a Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects with at least 50% marks in PCB group combination from a recognised board of education. Marks relaxation of upto 10% is allowed in case of reserved category candidates.

So, if you hold the above mentioned educational qualification, then you are certainly eligible to pursue MBBS degree course irrespective of your highest educational qualification. Further, there is no provision of any type of exemption for B.Sc. degree holder for pursuing MBBS degree course.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
