Previous 5 year Question Papers for Mathematics for SET Exam?

SET means State Eligibility Test. This exam is conducted by each state, although not jointly but separately for the Lectureship and PhD. This exam is same as the National Eligibility Test which is conducted by the University Grants Commission.

The only difference here is that SLET or SET exam is a state level exam. If you appeared for SET exam for Gujarat, then you will only get lecturer job in colleges managed by the Gujarat government. Same is the case if you appeared for SET exam for Maharashtra, Bihar, Himachal etc.

On the other hand National Eligibility Test is a central level exam. It is not limited to particular state. This exam is conducted by the University Grants Commission for lectureship and PhD in central government colleges.

After passing NET exam you can get lectureship job in any college funded by the central government. It does not matter whether it is located in Gujarat or Haryana.

Eligibility criteria for SET and NET is same but still I am writing it down for you.

Eligibility

1. You must be of Indian origin.

2. A post graduation degree from UGC recognized university.

3. Minimum of 55 percent marks.

4. SC/ST need 50 percent marks in PG course.

5. Final year candidates of PG may also apply.

6. However they should be able to submit their degree within 2 years of passing NET exam. They would still require to pass PG with required percentage else they will be disqualified.

7. The age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years.

8. The age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC.

9. For SC/ST age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

10. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

11. There is no restriction on number of attempts.
