NET and SET examination are conducted for recruitment as lecturer in government colleges. Candidates are also eligible for JRF through NET.

The eligibility to appear in examination is candidate must have passed master degree from a recognised university with minimum 55%. No age limit to appear for lecturer post.

So, if you have scored minimum 55% then eligible to appear for examination. NET examination is conducted by UGC.

NET and SET stands for National Eligibility Test and State Eligibility Test respectively. One of the most important purpose to apply for these exams is to become eligibility for being lecturer in government colleges.

Candidates with 55% marks in master's degree can apply both entrance exams. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship. General category candidates need to have minimum of 55% marks to apply for these exams.

At present, you can apply for CBSE NET December 2017 exam. Aadhaar number is mandatory to apply for this exam.

The NET(National Eligibility Test) and SET(State Eligibility Test) both the exams are carried out to check the eligibility of post graduate applicant for teaching. Here below is procedure to apply for the NET and SET exam:-

1). Application Procedure for NET:-

1). First you have to open (state set exam link) in you web browser and fill user registration form and then home page will be opened on your screen click on apply now button.

2). Now you have to fill main application form for SET exam fill your details carefully here.

3) After filling the form you have to attach the required documents with the form like scanned copy of passport size photo, Signature specimen etc.

4). After attaching required documents upload the application form.

5). After uploading application form for paying examination fee click on payment and print application form option here you can pay your exam fee through credit/debit card.

6). Now after print option you will get duplicate copy of application form and receipt of fee payment.

Eligibility Criteria for SET Exam:-

>> Qualification required to apply for SET exam is Post graduate degree from government recognized institute.

>> Minimum %age required to apply is 50% marks in post graduate degree. Relaxation of 5% marks for candidates belongs to reserve categories.

>> Minimum age limit to apply for SET exam is 23 years and there is no maximum age limit to apply for SET exam.

2).Application Procedure for NET Exam:-

1). Open www.cbsenet.nic.in in your web browser .Here you get application form for NET exam.

2). Fill your details accurately in motioned filling area and attach the required documents with it like passport size photos, Copy of previous qualification mark sheet etc.

3). After successfully attaching documents submit you application form.

4). Now after submitting of application form to pay the examination fee fill your account/credit card details and submit it.

5). Now print your payment detail slip for further use.

>> Application fee for general category candidate is RS:-1000/- and for SC/ST category candidate is RS:- 250/-

Eligibility Required to apply for NET Exam:-

>> Candidate having post graduate degree can apply for NET exam.

>> Candidate must have done masters from government recognized institute.

>> Candidate must have scored 550% marks. Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

>> Age limit to apply for NET exam junior research follow ship is 28 years and no age limit to apply for senior lectureship.

SET (State Eligibility Test):

- There is 5% relaxation given to the reservation candidates.
- There is no age limit for set exam.

NET refers to National Eligibility Test where as SET refers to State Eligibility Test and both these examinations are held by their concerned bodies for recruitment of Assistant professor ( lecturer ) and JRFs.
