Hi friend,


To become a lecturer in universities and colleges in India, you have got to,

first of all, complete your masters. Since you want to teach English at the

University level, you will need to pursue your masters degree program in

English. Apart from that, you will also have to qualify National Eligibility Test

conducted by the University Grant Commission.

To be eligible for the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship, you will need to

qualify your Masters Degree program with a minimum of 55%. In case of

candidates belonging to Sc/St Category, the required percentage of marks is

50%.

To become a lecturer in English, you must qualify National Eligibility Test for

Lectureship in that particular subject and candidates who have not pursued

their masters degree program in English, will not be allowed to opt for it.
