Hello friends, I am studying in 9th standard and I am interested to join Indian Navy. Can you please let me know what are all the requirements for joining Indian Navy? Please help me to know about this immediately.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA/NA examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice every year. The minimum academic qualification required to apply for NDA for Navy is 12th passed from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

You will have to secure minimum academic qualification to become eligible for Indian Navy. The age criteria for Indian Navy is 16.5 to 19.5 years.

No, you are not eligible to join Indian Navy being a 9th standard student. To join Indian Navy, you have to appear in UPSC NDA examination. The minimum Ed qualification required to apply for NDA examination is completion of 12th standard or an equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics subjects from a recognised board. So, being a 9th standard student, you are not eligible to appear in NDA examination for joining in Indian Navy.

9th standard candidates can not apply for Indian Navy examination called National Defence Academy exam conducted by UPSC.

Eligibility criteria for NDA entrance examination:

There are some posts in Indian Navy where high school passed candidates can apply. But they are not officer like posts. For a candidate who wants to become officer in Indian Navy, he needs to apply for NDA exam.

Ninth standard passed candidates can not apply for Indian Navy recruitment examination. For below officer level posts, minimum qualification is 10th passed.

For officer level posts, qualification is 12th and examination is called NDA.
