SBI Clerk Exam Details:-
  • State Bank of India is one of the largest public sector bank in India and one of the oldest too. Its branches are also widespread both in India and abroad. Every year whenever there is a vacancy SBI publishes notifications and the number of candidates applying for the same is very high as the craze for this exam is sky-high. In order to sit for this exam certain eligibility criteria needs to be satisifed. They are as follows:-
  • To sit for this exam firstly you need to be a higher secondary passed out candidate or its equivalent from a recognized school or institution with not less than 60% of marks at 0+2 level. The subject combination is not an important criteria here. There is percentage relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
  • If you are a diploma degree holder then also you can give this exam. But the degree should be a regular one and should be done from a recognized institution. The duration of the course should not be less than two years. You need to get 60% of marks in this case as well.
  • Even after completing your graduation you can apply for this exam. In that case you just need to get the pass marks since the minimum percentage to obtain has not been mentioned. You can do the graduation in any discipline you want to.
  • Your age should be less than 18 years when applying for this exam since that is the minimum age limit. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 28 years. There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
  • For OBC candidates there is age relaxation of 3 years, for SC/ST candidates it is 5 years and for physically handicapped candidates it is 10 years.
  • To get finally selected you need to cross two hurdles or stages. They are as follows: 1) Written Examination and 2) Personal Interview. If you manage to get the pass marks in the exam then you may get a call for the interview session depending on the vacancies available. Final decision will be taken by considering the marks you have got in the written exam and in the interview session.
  • Usually objective questions are asked and they will be of XIIth standard. You will get one marks each for every right answer and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted from the original score. There will be five papers of 40 marks each and it is important to pass in every paper.
