You can choose management specialisation in operations if you want to work with larget civil firms. Or you could take other functions like marketing, finance, sales and techology depending on your areas of interest. Now MBA programs are also offered in niche areas like construction management.

Hai Probhakar,
A graduate in civil engineering has many options open without going for any master degree. A Bachelor degree holder in civil engineering usually gets employed in project works carried out by private construction company, railway, military , road projects, building works, etc.
An MBA in any sector will take you on another road, so if professional engineering work is what you have always wanted to do then you are not required to do MBA.
But, if you want to go for research or for teaching as a profession, a post graduate degree in engineering will be helpful and a degree in Business administration will be definitely useful for you if you want to be in managerial position in the related field.

MBA after civil engineering will be completely a different course. So if you think you dont want to study civil engineering anymore then you can do your MBA. Otherwise best option I will tell you is that you should go for construction management

Otherwise you can do your MBA after you Civil engg just to improve you business skills which will definately help you in your career in civil engineering

these days getting into management line does not remain so easy ...
only after good recommendations only you can get selected in any of consultancy or marketing kind of firms...
you must have a lot of interest in commerce and economics also..
apart from this you can do mba. from many available colleges also and also from foreign institutions also ...

also i ca suggest you to remain in civil branch only a it has a very good scope in near future due to upcoming of many kind of new infrastructural facilities..
this branch is in most demand ...

Dear friend,

You can go for an MBA after civil engineering.

There are many options for you to choose like the popular ones as finance, marketing, banking and insurance etc.

If you don't like your subject you can go for commerce subjects i have mentioned above.

Otherwise it will be beneficial to you if you do the MBA on construction management, which will help you a lot in your future career.

All the best!
