Hello everyone, I am studying in 12th standard with Commerce stream. I want to join Indian Air Force. But I have heard that there is no scope for Commerce students in Indian Air Force. I want to know about the scope for me in IAF.

Having completed your Class 12th in Commerce stream, you are only eligible for Indian Air force Airmen Y group selection as for other entries you are required to have pursued Mathematics and Physics at your Class 12th level.

Further, for joining IAF Airmen Y group, you are required to be an unmarried Indian male candidate with your age lying within 17 years to 21 years. Also, you must have completed your Class 12th in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognized board of education.

Yes, you can join Indian Air Force if you are Commerce student.

But not just after 12th standard, you will have to complete your graduation in any field.

After completion of graduation (like BCA/B.Sc/B.Com/B.A.,etc.), you can apply for anyone of the below exams.

• CDS (Air Force)
• AFCAT (Non Technical Branch of Air Force, Flying Branch of Air Force)

By applying into anyone of the above exams, you can join Indian Air Force.

For qualiyfing CDS Exam, you will have to qualify Written exam first followed by Peronal Interview.

Similarly in AFCAT exam, there is an AFCAT exam that is conducted first and then further recruitment procedure.
