Kindly tell me whats the scope of M.Sc. in natural resource management. i appeared in entrance exams and got selected in TERI UNIVERSITY. After completing this course can i give NET exam? Where may i apply after completing m.sc. in same?

Dear this NET exam occurs to qualify for elligiblity in lecturer in any university. for that you have to secure at 55% IN YOUR MASTERS DEGREE.
They occur twice in year.
after completing your msc in this feild you may find jobs in abroad countries like New Zeland, Australia

Takes you on to a number of different career paths, including opportunities with private environmental companies, local authorities, statutory agencies and non-government organisations and research organisations.

You will be taught by industry-active research academics with an established track record. The relevance of the programme to industry is exemplified by the group project which is undertaken for an external client.
Course description

Increases in global population and standards of living and greater awareness of our environmental impact, mean we must learn to manage both our natural resources (biodiversity, soil, land and water) and ourselves in new ways. As future natural resource managers, we need to integrate a scientific understanding of environmental processes with a mature appreciation of the role of institutions and socio-economics.

Accredited by the Landscape Institute, this course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to apply social, economic, scientific and engineering principles to plan, implement and evaluate sustainable natural resource management projects and programmes. It provides training in the use of geographic information systems (GIS), stakeholder analysis and environmental impact assessment.

Students benefit from dedicated state-of-the-art facilities including GIS and remote sensing laboratories, land resource planning laboratory, and soil and water laboratories.

The MSc course comprises eight assessed modules, an integrated group project and an individual project. Students undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) complete the eight modules and the group project. Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) students complete five modules, a project and a personal development portfolio.

Integrated group project

This project provides students with the opportunity to take responsibility for a commercially-orientated, consultancy-type project while working in teams under academic supervision. It involves survey design, data collection and analysis, and synthesis and presentation of results to the client.

Individual thesis project

This project provides an opportunity to concentrate on a particular aspect of natural resource management. It allows students to demonstrate their ability to research independently, to think and work in an original way, to contribute to knowledge, and to overcome genuine problems in this specialist area of land management. Many of the projects are supported by external organisations.
