M.Sc in Geography, Geography M.Sc
M.Sc in geography is a master’s level course. Geography is the study of the physical features of the earth and of human activity as it relates to these. It deals with the entire natural phenomenon, agricultural process, minerals, earth and its surroundings. It also deals with the natural calamities and disaster management.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for M.Sc in geography is that one should have B.Sc. (Hons)/B.Sc. under at least 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50%in aggregate in science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc. course). However, for admission to M.Sc. in Geography a candidate must also have studied chemistry as one of the subjects at the graduate level.
Course Outlook
M.Sc in Geography is a 2 year full time course. These two years is divided into two parts of one year each. After each year one has to pass in the main university exam for being promoted to the next year. Distance courses from the institutes like IGNOU is also available in M.Sc. Geography. M.Sc. in Geography broadly covers areas like earth’s topography, metrological changes, components of atmosphere, causes and measurement of natural calamities etc.
Job Prospects
After completion of M.Sc degree in Geography one can go for the teaching profession. They can also join metrology department, can get a job in municipality, civil services and they can even appear for the IAS exam. They can also go for agricultural based industries and can also join the disaster management. They can also opt for further studies and can be a part of a research project or can move to teaching profession.

chemistry was not the subject at H.S & Graduate level.then can i applied to the M.sc of geography?
