The field of Pharmaceutical chemistry has the scope in the R&D in the Pharma companies and the Clinical Trials unit but it has a narrow scope than the pharmacology, which has a wide range of vacancies in the area of research, clinical trials, R&D, ICMR - DGQA like opportunities can be available for the pharmacology. but only in india but also in the abroad there are perennial vacancies are available there.

There are very good scope of pharmacology because 'Pharmacology' is an international forum to present and discuss current perspectives in drug research and it covers biochemical pharmacology, molecular pharmacology, immunopharmacology, drug metabolism, pharmacogenetics, analytical toxicology, neuropsychopharmacology, pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology.......

There are countless scope in this field. But tell me one thing. Do you like this course? If yes then why thinking more about it. Just go for it.

in pharmaceutical industry medicinal chemistry is having more scope than pharmacology.. by choosing medicinal cemistry u can enter into follwing departments of a pharmaceutical company
1.QC(quality control)
2.AR&D(analytical research and development)
3.R&D unit of a bulk drug company and chances of entering into production department whereas pharmacology make u 2 enter mainly into clinical research
anyways "go by u'r interest"

definitely u can get job in pharmaceutical companies in the following areas
Quality control
production
if you have sound knowledge in organic chemistry you can enter into R&D unit which is the heart of pharmaceutical industry
you will have high pay in R&D department
also more opportunities in academics to teach medicinal chemistry
