Re: Should I join Pharm D after my B.Pharm?
No. Its not a good decision of doing D-Pharmacy soon after the completion of B-Pharmacy because B-Pharmacy is the higher level course then D-Pharmacy.
Let me explain you clearly regarding this. There are 2 major ways in which one can join B-Pharmacy course. First one is by cracking respective entrance exams which will give admission for B-Pharmacy course in various colleges of that particular state or of that university. If the candidate join B-Pharmacy course in this manner, the duration of B-Pharmacy course in 4 years. The second way is candidates can pursue D-Pharmacy course which is a Diploma course soon after completion of 12th class. The duration of this course is 2 years. Later on, after completion of D-Pharmacy, candidates will appear for ECET Exam. Depending upon the performance of the candidate in this entrance exam, he will be given admission to pursue 2nd year of B-Pharmacy in various colleges. So, in this way, it will take 5 years for the candidates to complete B-Pharmacy course. Hence, I suggest you to opt for M.Pharmacy course or MBA in Pharmaceutical Management after completion of B-Pharmacy. |

Re: Should I join Pharm D after my B.Pharm?
yes, don't get confused between PHARM-D and D-PHARM,
they are totally different, d-pharm is the diploma for doing b-pharma but pharm-d is quite related to the b-pharm with the medicine, if you do only b-pharm you can go for the formulation, research and development, etc.. but pharm-d you will be studying about the medicine but you cannot go to the industries for the formulation, you can dispense medicines which b-pharmacists are not allowed. so, if you are intrested in doing pharm-d after b-pharm, you can go without any tension, you will have three year course of pharm-d and you can work in hospitals also. even you will get the title of doctor... |

D.Pharma is diploma in pharmacy and B.pharma is bachelor of pharmacy. Almost all people do D.pharma as primary and next they will go through B.pharma. Why are you thinking like this? There is no use of doing D.pharma now because it is a lower degree. Other than you can do M.pharma and further work as drug inspector. Your career will be nice. |

Re: Should I join Pharm D after my B.Pharm?
As correctly mentioned by you GATE exam will not be conducted for those aspiring to go in for Master's in Pharmacy stream. So there is no need to appear for this exam. You can however appear for the NIPER exam and there is no need to have GATE score to appear for this exam. To appear for this exam make sure you have 60% in aggregate in your Bachelors course. If the grading is CGPA then you must have atleast 6.75 out of the scale of 10. For candidates who belong to the SC/ST caste a score of 55% or 6.25 C.G.P.A is required. Also you must be pursuing the course from a recognised institute. You can appear for the exam when you are in the final year of graduation. The forms should be available in the month of June. You can visit the official site for further details.
