The first step you need to do is complete your graduation. Also your age should be over 21 years and not more than 30 years. You need to prepare for the two levels of the exam. The first is the CSAT exam which is basically an aptitude oriented test. If you are able to clear this level then you will need to clear the mains exam next. You can select any of the subjects mentioned in the UPSC site for the same. You can download the past papers to know the pattern of exam.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service .IPS is civil service exam conducted by UPSC every year .For IPS a candidate should be graduate . The minimum qualification for becoming an IPS officer is-
* You should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university. * You should be minimum 21 years of age. * The upper age limit is- General - 30 years SC/ST - 35 years OBC - 33 years If you fullfil above criteria you can become IPS officer. For this you will have to give civil services exam. Firstly there is CSAT and then main exam then interview. |

To become in to IPS officer,You have to appear for Civil Service Exams. The Civil Service Exams are conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in every year. Eligibility Criteria for IPS:- **Educational qualification is Graduation in any stream from any recognized university. **There is NO minimum percentage is required. Age limit:- **for general 21 to 30years. **for BC 21 to 33years. **for Sc/st 21 to 35years.
