Re: Which stream is a better choice for me in Engineering?
This is a question i face a lot and my answer is that most of the streams in Engineering are very good in for bright future. It all comes down to the branch of engineering you feel comfortable with. Your interest is all that matters in the end therefore the question is upto you.
However if you are still confused and can not pick any one stream, my advice for you would be Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). I say ECE for various reasons. Firstly Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates are much in demand. That too not in one particular field but various fields. Secondly because ECE is almost immune to the global economic crisis. Third major reason would be that you would have plenty of Public Sector Undertaking jobs if graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering. Others field like Mechanical, Civil Engineering are also very good but my suggestion for you would be Electronics and Communication Engineering. Here are the jobs that you can expect after completing graduation. Public Sector Undertakings: If you want job security then head towards PSU. Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates are well in demand in Public Sector companies. All you require is B.Tech degree with at least 60 percent marks to apply for PSU job. However you will have to appear in written test followed by the Interview. Written test is the most crucial part while applying for the PSU job. For few hundred jobs, lakhs of candidates apply by appearing in the written test. You can improve your chances by appearing in GATE entrance exam and getting a good score. This would give you advantage over other candidates and you may even not require to appear in written test. The companies you can apply for are: ISRO BHEL GAIL HAL DRDO INDIAN RAILWAYS ONGC IOCL Telecom Telecom sector is also an important employer for the Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates. India has one of the fastest growing telecom sector in the world. Therefore the requirement of ECE graduates is very high. Bharti Airtel Idea Cellular BSNL Vodafone Reliance Communications Nokia Aircel MTNL Tata Tele Consumer Electronics Often regarded as evengree field which is hardly affected by economic slowdown, Consumer Electronics is also a field where ECE candidate can puruse career. Some of the top compaines in the field are: LG Samsung Videocon Godrej Whirphool IT Information Technology sector also offer jobs to ECE graduates. In fact Infosys alone offers more jobs to ECE candidates then any other company in India. Most of the studens are given job during on campus placement. The $60 billion IT industry of India is always on the hunt for ECE graduates. Expect jobs in these companies Microsoft Infosys HCL DELL IBM Intel Wipro TCS |

Re: Which stream is a better choice for me in Engineering?
Hi friend,
I have seen that mostly engineering aspirants are always confused wit this question. I am also engineering student and I was also so much confused at the time of admission that which branch should I choose. But after coming to college I realised that all branches of engineering are best . Students of each branch are getting good placements if they are good in their subjects. But I will suggest you to choose CSE branch of engineering because in India it is on the boom and it is estimated that this would continue in the near future. Not in India but also in abroad CSE engineers have scope . If you choose CSE branch and you have enough knowledge then surely you will get good placements. Mostly highest packages are given to CSE students. CSE - Computer Science Engineering You should have to apply for IITJEE , AIEEE , BITSAT , UPSEE etc through which you can get various top government and private colleges. It is my suggestion for you that you should do engineering from any top colleges because in placements your colleges play a very big role. If you do B.Tech from good colleges then top companies will hire you. TOP MNC's GIVING JOB TO CS ENGINEERS- TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Syntel Birlasoft Cognizant Cisco Oracle Amazon Microsoft Apple etc. These companies recruits students with high package and give various facilities . To get the job in these companies is the dream of every engineering students. TOP 10 COLLEGES FOR CSE BRANCH- IIT Bombay IIIT Hyderabad IIT Delhi IIT kanpur IIT Chennai NIT Trichy IIT Madras NIT Warangal IIT Roorkee IIT Kharagpur. |
