what subject should i concentrate on more to persue my IES exam? and are there any books available?

IES is not a simple examination. The ultimate goal is to qualify it well. So, you need to prepare in all the corners. The optional subject, which depends on your engineering stream should be prepared with complete concepts.
There is not a single book available in market. One can suggest you one, only when you tell your engineering stream ie the optional paper you are opting for.
All you need is to cover entire syllabus and be good in theory as well as in numerical.

this is depand upon you that what kind of subject selected
u can select a that subject in which u have a sound knowledge

u should consentrate on english essay,GK and choose the subject u r already in touch

IES exam is very difficult to crack . for this u have to work hard on every chapter.

u have to concentrate on the following subjects thoroughly

1.network analysis ( a.k.chakrabarty)

2.electric machines( j.b.gupta)

3.power system( r.k.rajput)

4.control system( c.kuo)

IES is not so easy exam that you will study selectively...you have to concentrate on all corners.you should have a deep knowledge of the optional subject which is related to your engineering stream.there is no one book which contains all the detalis of IES.prepare with full dedication and if possible join IES made easy,Delhi.

as you know that IES exam is conducted for engineering graduates.

so you are also a engineering graduate.so focus on your syllabus of your branch.

first of all make command over technical papers then you can prepare for general studies and general English.

IES are one of the hardes exams to crack..but hard work and a lot of effort can put u in..the seat in IES are really low...Concentrate on the subjects in which u hav done ur degree .so that u can hav beeter knlodge but also try to keep in touch with other branch subjects.Try to get in to good coaching institutes to enhanse ur knlodge and have a better Go.

I must tell you...IES is one of the hardest exam....It requires sincere efforts and extreme hard work...For I must also tell you IES exam is not atall impossible to crack..You need to be focused on technical section...according to your branch...for EXAM for ECE students you can follow books like R K KANODIA..

this year IES exam is going to be held on 4-12-2010..

if you hve prepared for it..then go for it !!

do concentrate on the subjects you were having in earlier studies asyou don't need to start from scratch and ofcourse english.competetive success may help you a lot

i am from ec branch and their is only 12 days left for ies exam which subject to concentrate in these days to gain maximum marks... i have command on control system
