If you have done your post Graduation in the subject Music than you have to appear in the subject MUSIC in the UGC NET exams
Music is one of the subjects of the UGC NET exams NET Exams are conducted by UGCtwice a year i.e June & Dec NET Exam is conducted for: Lecturership Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) Educational Qualifications for the UGC-NET exams is: Post Graduation pass Minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation for the General and OBC candidates Minimum 50% marks for the SC/ST candidates |

You have completed masters degree in some department are related to Music So you can apply through Indian Classical Music department . Because all candidate from Rabindra Sangeet , Tabla ,Esraz ,Drama , Monipuri Dance are applying for NET Exam through Classical Music Department . NET stands for National Eligibility Test. This exam conducted by University Grant Commission(UGC). List of subjects for NET exam: Attachment 139083 Eligibility Criteria: NET exam contain two types Lectureship Junior Research Fellowship Education Qualification: Candidate should complete the Post Graduation to eligible NET exam. Candidate should have min 55% of marks in Post Graduation. 5% of marks relaxation for SC\ST categories. Age limit: Lectureship: There is no upper age relaxation for candidate Lectureship. JRF: Your age limit should be not more than 28 years. All the best.............. |

If you have post graduation degree in Music, only then you can appear for the National Eligibility Test with the aim of either lectureship or Junior Research Fellowship.
Your subject will be Music. It is one of the subjects accpeted for the National Eligibility Test by the Union Public Service Commission. You can check that out for yourself here - ugcnetonline.in/subjects.php You have to simply be eligible for the entrance exam. It is not a easy entrance exam to clear therefore be fully prepared when decides to appear for it. National Eligibility Test is conducted in June and December of every year. You must meet the following criteria to appear for it. NET Eligibility 1. Your nationality should be Indian. 2. Master degree should have been completed. 3. You can also be in final year of master degree course. 4. 55 percentage marks in post graduation. 5. 50 percentage is required for SC/ST to appear. 6. Subject for NET is going to be Music for you. 7. You should apply for JRF before turning 28 years. 8. OBC can apply before the 31st birthday. 9. SC/ST can appear for NET upto 33 years. 10. There is no upper age limit for lectureship. |
