dear friend........... I consider IITs are best, Then NITs and then Central and State Universities and at the last I consider for Deemed or private univities and colleges for Master of Technology Admissions...........

there are no central counselling for all the college.
all the colleges are organise their own conselling based on GATE score.
so,keep eye on all the colleges.

i am little confused about your marks because you have just provided your marks not your percentage . if you have secured more than 90 percent then you can take admission in iit which will be best. if you have secured about 90 percent then you can take admission in niit but if your marks is still low then you can check for bit sindri or other colleges.

I have done Msc in chemistry and score rank 3937 in gate 2010. should I do Mtech in any subject related to mine..????

iam present syudying in b.tech 3'yr am very crazy about gate exam and what is total score of gate and is the score to get into an IIT,iam an hard working student

good to know about hardworking capability and hope you do well.
To get into top college you must score 95% and above for IIT'S so start preparation and start writing exam as it is valid for 2 years and can change if anyone not satisfy with previous one.

friend you would have done better to provide your score instead of rank as that would give a better idea...still the following is a cut off list of the top colleges...hope it helps

CUT-OFF SCORES FROM VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS
Each institute has its own cut off percentage in the GATE score. I am trying to get information regarding
the history of cut-off scores from all institutions. I will be putting in that information as soon as it comes
available. For now, here is the information I have gathered so far.

Typical cut-off scores:
Above 96 Percentile: IITs., IISC
Between 85-96 Percentile: NITs (previously called as RECs)
Less than 85 perentile: Other institutes
PERCENTILE CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION AT IIT DELHI

Degree: M.Tech.[ Full time Direct admission]
Minimum Eligibility:
B.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent with very high GATE score and : (a) CGPA of 8.5 or 75% marks in aggregate for general

As we know that IIT is the best college for M.Tech after then
NIT is the good for this course. Many central/ State government
college is also good for the M.tech course and after this some top
private college is consider good for this course.

how can calculate persentile from gate score?

I secured 95.2 percentile(6742 rank) in GATE 2011. Please suggest few top colleges for me?

i have 9.33 marks out of 100 and gate score is 141 and all india rank is 9765 in instrumentation so give me some best govt. colleges for admission.

my gate score is 91.8 percentile so suggest me best colleges

Your marks are average so i would suggest you to apply for state government college for M-tech,.

or else you can apply for those college which conduct their own entrance exam for M-tech courses. for example

IIIT-Delhi
IIIT-allahabad
IIIT-Pune
IIIT- hyderabad
etc...

these college conduct there own entrance exam if you have quantified GATE
