To become an IAS officer you must clear an exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission Exam. To apply for the exam your age must greater than 21yrs and lesser than 30 yrs. You must also be a graduate to be eligible for this exam.

IAS is the topmost post in India . IAS is the Indian Administrative Service . Its entrance that is the civil services exam is conducted every year through the UPSC . There are many post which is given to the candidates qualifying the civil services exam like that of the IAS , IPS, IFS ,and tax and customs officers and many others ... The age limit for the civil services exam is that one should be of the age of 21years to 30 years . There is the relaxation on the upper age limits of the OBC candidates of 3 years and also for the SC/ST students of the 5 years . And the educational qualification required is minimum of the graduation passed from the recognized colleges or the university from any discipline . For becoming an IAS officer you have to qualify the UPSC civil service exam which is conducted every year.Notification, forms avliablity all about this exam is done by UPSC.
Main eligiblity criteria for this exam:- Candidates must have a graduate certificate from arecognised university. Candidates age must be between 21 to 30. Candidates must have the nationality of india. This exam conducts in 3 stages: 1. The age criterion for IAS is 21-30 , 5 year relaxation given to SC/ST and 3 year to OBC.To become IAS you have to sit for CSE exam which comes under UPSC, Each year this exam is taken, just prepare for that and click it. All the best. |

-ias exam is one of the prestigious exam even more than iit-jee exam as it will take you to the apex of any administrative ladder in india….. -you should be determined, hard working and well focused while preparing ias exam. Eligibility criteria involves certain things as mentioned below: 1. Educational qualification: • must be a graduate from a recognised university. • candidates having professional and technical qulification are also eligible. 2. Nationality: • the candidate must be a citzen of india. 3. Age limits: • candidate must attain the age of 21 years and must not attained the age of 30 years on the year in which the examination is being held. • relaxtation of age limit in case of sc/st and other backward categories. Indian Administration service exam is conducted by upsc every year once.
Eligibility criteria for Civil Service examination: Education qualification: Candidate should have complete graduation with any discipline from a recognized university. Number of attempts: 4 attempts for General category candidates 7 attempts for obc category candidates unlimit attempts for sc/st category candidates. Civil Service(Preliminary exam) Notification for this year: Issue of application form from 4th Feb 2012 to 5th March 2012. Exam will held on 20th May 2012. Civil service (Main Exam) notification for this year: Exam will held on 15th Oct 2012. Yet notification details,were not update,i hope they will be updating notification after preliminary exams. 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).
