The question you have asked doesn't seems to be complete. If you are interested in joining the police force, you will have to write entrance exam conducted on state level as well as on national level.
For the post of Sub-Inspector in state police, you must be a graduate within the age limit of 20-27 years.
To join as an ASP/ACP, you will have to write civil service exam conducted by UPSC and to be eligible for it, you must be a graduate within the age limit of 21-30 years.
Being a +2 qualified candidate, you will be eligible to join the police force in the post of Constable/Head constable and the recruitment for the same is done on state level.

IPS - Indian Police Service

It is one of the Indian Civil Service exam and the exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

There are certain criteria's which you must satisfy to apply for the exam and they may include:

Eligibility for IPS:


>> The candidates must be a citizen of India


Age limits:

The candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years.

For SC/ST candidates it is 35 years.

For OBC candidates it is 33 years.


Education Qualification:

The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for this exam.


The candidates are possibly selected through 3 stages:

Preliminary exam.
Main exam.
Interview

Attempts:

You may be given a certain allotment for attempts and they are,for general candidates it is 4 and for SC/ST there is no limit and for OBC candidates it is 7.

There are N number of opportunity in police service in state wise as well as national wise.

If you want to enter into state level wise you should write exam state level entrance test, it will be like common entrance exam. In police depart there are grade wise exam will be conducted by state and Central government.

In state wise,

You can become constable and head constable for this minimum qualification 10 and +2 only

For sub inspector of police-qualification any degree at recognized college-age should be upto 27

National wise IPS/IAS/IFS

This is one of very toughest exam who conducts UPSC. For this you should be completed any one degree and age should be up to 40. it differs depends on category wise for SC/SC maximum is 40.
