hello friend
look At the most basic level, Computer Science is a "Hard" Science, well grounded in what is now known in the field of Mathematics as Information Theory. Computer Science (as a field) is concerned with developing new ideas around the use and design of computing systems, and with the mathematical concepts of computation and information.

Information Technology, on the other hand, is a practical Engineering discipline, concerned with implementing solutions to practical problems using current-day technology

i hope this will clear your query

difference between computer engineering and Information Technology:-

"computer engineering" is about the design, implementation, installation, maintenance, operation, etc. of computer hardware & software. Note that the word "computer" is prevalent.

"Information Technology" is just that - "technology" - an all-embracing term that includes any and all methods or means of processing information - which will include all types of communications.

this is the main difference between "computer engineering" and "Information Technology".

thanks

Hi there..!!
CSE is realted with development of various softwares and hardwares while IT professionals are the one who are more involved in networking.
More or less both are same..!!

From total of 8 subjects, only some subjects change in the last semester of BTech

In IT you have to study a bit more than CSE

But all over CSE students have an edge
Eg:
If an IT company requires to hire some person (both professionals CSE and IT are required by every company)
Then they will hire some 6-7 person from CSE and 3-4 person from IT

So you should have your First presference as CSE although they are more or less same subjects.

hello,

Computer Science is the study of the principles of computing and how computers solve problems. You will study the different types of problems that a computer can solve and how one would present a problem to a computer. Abstract ideas that rely on fundamental mathematical theories are the basis of Computer Science.

Information Systems is the study of what technology/tools can best meet the Information management needs of a particular organization. These tools can be human, process-based or technological. Familiarity with such tools is essential for a successful IT professional.

Thank you,

Thumbs up Re: What is the difference between Computer Engineering and Information Technology?

hello,

difference between Computer Engineering and Information Technology

-->COLOR="Navy"]Computer Science engineering is the study of theoretical

foundations of information and computation and of practical techniques for

their application in computer systems. In addition, you will also learn about

several other areas like networking, database, visualisation and web. As a

computer engineer you have options to work in IT companies in departments

such as design, development, assembly, manufacture and maintenance, etc.

Working as programmer, web developer, and E- commerce specialist with

telecommunications companies, automotive companies, aerospace companies,

etc. can be a lucrative career option as well.

[/COLOR]

-->Information Technology programme covers a wide range of

interlocking technologies including, computer controlled technology, computer

networks, web based applications, designing computer systems, embedded

systems & information transmission and reception to prepare you for a

stimulating, challenging and rewarding career in designing and operation of

such devices. Information science programs teach you about the collection,

organization, and use of information. You can learn about computer data

storage, processing, systems planning and design. You can also learn to

develop databases that meet user needs.

You can go for any branch of engineering, whether you are a boy or a girl, no

matter. There is nothing like a particular stream is good or bad for girls. So,

you should choose a stream which interests you the most rather than go for

a stream which is best for girls.

thank you....
