Respected Sir, myself Vivek and I attended HCL pool drive and got selected but I didn’t get any mail from HCL. At the time of drive HR said that your job is on hold. Can I know what does it mean?

Job is on hold might mean-
Sometimes employer figure out that there is a budget constraint or that there is no urgency to fill a vacancy. This could sometimes means that you were not selected. You might be good but company is considering whether they can get better than you.
This could otherwise also mean that position is not matching your profile, but they are not willing to loose a candidate like you.
