I m goinng to appear in CA IPCC GROUP-1 examination in may 2012 and also in b.com 1st year examination nd iwant to know that what should be eligibility for an income tax officer exam

Income Tex Officer


Eligibility:-

Age:- A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on the first July of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxable for sc/st/obc.

Educational Qualifications:- A candidate should be graduate degree of a
recognized University.

Physical Standards:-

A- Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Male candidates)

1-Physical Standards (Minimum):-
Height 157.5 cms
Chest 81 cms (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms

Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Kumaon Region, Nagaland Tribes and members of ST

2-Physical Test:
Walking-1600 metres in 15 minutes
Cycling- 8 Km in 30 minutes

B- Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Lady Candidates)

1-Physical Standard:-
Height- 152 cms
Weight- 48 Kg

Height relaxable by 2.5 cm and weight by 2 kg for Gorkhans, Garhwalis, Assamese, Kumaon region and Nagaland Tribes and members of ST

2-Physical Test:
Walking-1 km in 20 minutes
Cycling-3 km in 2

For an Income Tax officer, the minimum academic qualification required is a bachelors degree, in any discipline, from a recognized university.
The eligible age to apply for the post of Income Tax officer is between 18-27 years.
The examination which you will need to crack, to become Income Tax officer is known as combined graduate level examination and is conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

To appear for the Income Tax Officer exam, you should have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. The age limit for the exam is 18-27 years. The students from reservation category have an age relaxation of 3 to 5 years. Usually, the notification will be published in the month of April. The preliminary exam will be conducted in the month of May or June.
