The full-form of CMJ university is Chandra Mohan Jha university.

CMJ University was established at shillong by the government of Meghalaya in july 2009 under the provision of the Cmj university act 2009.

CMJ University is approved by UGC but not approved by AICTE .

Full form of CMJ University is promoted by CMJ Foundation (Chandra Mohan Jha Foundation, a trust registered in Shillong) led by its chairman, Chandra Mohan Jha. Mindtrek Edutech Pvt Ltd is National technical partner of CMJ University and that is why CMJ university name has been kept.

CMJ University or CMJ University is a private university located in Shillong, Meghalaya and established through a State act called as "CMJ University Act, 2009" in the State of Meghalaya, India. The University has signed an MOU with the Institute o Accountants of India.

The University is situated on a 40 acre Campus on a hillock in Jorabat on the Guwahati-Shillong Highway.
