The government of India has classified public employees into:
>>Grade I or Group A called Gazetted or Executive. >>Grade II or Group B (Gazetted and Non Gazetted both). >>Grade III or Group C >>Grade IV or Group D. In Grade A, public employees belong to highest class of government servants. Examples like commissioned officers of Indian Army, Bureaucrats from All India civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS etc. Grade II or Group B Gazetted: Examples: Lower Officers cadre in state governments. Junior Physician in state of central government, circle inspectors, assistant engineers in both state and central government. Grade III or Group C: >>Public Servants in Non supervisory roles. >>Examples like head clerk, section heads, police constables etc. |
