NDA stands for National Defense Academy. UPSC conducts this exam generally in the months of April and September. You can enter the following wings by giving this exam: Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy. In the application form you have to state whether you want to join NDA or NA. If its the former then there are three wings to choose from as stated above. But the final decision will be based on the rank you secure and not just entirely on your preferences only.[B] NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria:-
You have to go through the following selection procedures: Written Examination and Personality Test by SSB. If you qualify in the written exam only then you will be made to go through stage two. The examination pattern is like this: 1. Mathematics (2.5 hours)-300 marks 2. General Ability Test (2.5 hours)-900 marks The General Ability test can be further sub-divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge. Both Gk and Mathematics paper will be set in english and hindi. General knowledge includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, General Science, History and current events. Physical Standards: You need to be physically fit and meet with certain standards set by the exam holder. You need to undergo a fitness test and if you are declared 100% fit only then you will be able to enter the academy. This is an important part of selection. Hope this helps |
