The National Defense Academy (NDA) Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for all the three defense forces of India:
Indian Army
Indian Air Force
Indian Navy

The minimum required height for each defense forces varies and is as follows:

• For Indian Army: 157.5 cms
• For Indian Air Force: 162.5 cms
• For Indian Navy: 157.5 cms

For candidates belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, the required height is relaxed upto 5 cms and for candidates belonging to Lakshadweep, the required height is relaxed upto 2 cms.

NDA Stands for National Defence Academy Examination and this examination is conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission .

To apply for this examination , the candidate should have a completed 12th examination from a recognized School or equivalent qualification and those who are pursing in the 12th examination may also eligible to apply for NDA examination .

The candidate must have attained the age of 16.5 years and 19 years and Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination .

Minimum Distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia.
Colour vision CP-1 Hypermetropia: +2.0 D Sph Manifest Myopia: Nil , Retinoscopic Myopia: -0.5 in any Meridian permitted , Astigmatism: +0.75 D Cyl (within +2.0 D-Max) .

Additional Requirements :-

• Running 2-4 Km in 15 minutes.
• Skipping
• Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each)
• Chin ups (minimum 08)
• Rope climbing 3-4 meters

NDA - NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

The average Height of a candidate should be 157cm but the height of a cndidate depends upon his weight and age proportionately.

i.e NDA-I, NDA-II.

Eligibility criteria:

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible

Girls are not eligible for this exam.

Candidate must be physically fit.

Educational qualification:

12th standard from any recognised state board.

There no percentage is required.

Age criteria:

NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

NDA stands for National Defense Academy. UPSC conducts this exam generally in the months of April and September. You can enter the following wings by giving this exam: Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy.

In the application form you have to state whether you want to join NDA or NA. If its the former then there are three wings to choose from as stated above. But the final decision will be based on the rank you secure and not just entirely on your preferences only.[B]

NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• You have to be a citizen of India.
  
• Army Wing: You need to be a 12th pass out from a recognized institution.
  
• Air Force & Naval Wing: You need to be 12th pass out with physics and mathematics as your compulsory subjects at 10+2 level.
  
• If you are in the final year of class 12 about to sit for the exam or awaiting the result then also you can give this exam.
  
• This exam is only for the unmarried male citizens of India.
  
• The minimum age limit is 16.5 years and maximum age limit is 19 years.

You have to go through the following selection procedures: Written Examination and Personality Test by SSB. If you qualify in the written exam only then you will be made to go through stage two.

The examination pattern is like this:

1. Mathematics (2.5 hours)-300 marks
2. General Ability Test (2.5 hours)-900 marks

The General Ability test can be further sub-divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge. Both Gk and Mathematics paper will be set in english and hindi. General knowledge includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, General Science, History and current events.

Physical Standards:

You need to be physically fit and meet with certain standards set by the exam holder. You need to undergo a fitness test and if you are declared 100% fit only then you will be able to enter the academy. This is an important part of selection.
