hello sir, i am 3 year student of mechanical engineering.my gate percentile is 61..please me help me and let me know that minimum %tile required for take admission in iits through gate.

Actually there is no certain rule,so it depends on every year.assumed minimum 80 percentile is essential for admission to IITs.

As IIT can not call all the candidates, they will call those who top the GATE exam. For every one seat they may call 3 to 5 top candidates. To make it more clear, for 20 seats they may call top 60~100 candidates to appear for interview.

Those who secured above 90 percentile in GATE can apply for all IITs.

I am sorry to say but you can not get admission in Mtech course offered at IITs.

to get admission in IIT you should have approx 96 percentile and more...
After that there is an interview based on ur technical skills...
If u passed d intervw u wl surely get seat in IIT

dear friend percentile never matters you need to score good gate score

that is above 750 for any iit
there are various cut offs for each branch and catagory
it depends upon your branch and on your catagory that how much you need

but on an average i will suggest you to score atleat 700 for iits i.e nearly 99.55 percentile

note : percentile varies on number off candidates but gate score remain nearly constant

Worried about GATE Ranks Don't worry Don't feel Bad !! This is not the End of the issue.

If you really want to Go for IIT through Gate then Write it again with full preparation and get selected there.

Because 61 % is too low to get good seat, Even you can't get seat other than IIT's too i.e in other universities who proffered GATE ranks for Admissions.

To get into IIT's you at-least required more than 90 percentile. And it always Depends upon the Quantity of Qualified Candidates,

More the Candidates secure Good score in Gate more will be the Competitions.

but if you have less than that then you can apply for NIT's and other regional

colleges they are also equally good also you can get a assitance of upto Rs

if i gate 90 percentile in GATE but i gate only 50% in B.E. It will efect on admisson process?

IF I AM GETTING ONLY A 8.4 CGPA IN 10 CAN I APPLY TO IIT.

Hi...you have gone through this exam and your percentage is not that bad.Its good but to get admission in IIT you need to score more than 95% and above.Never mind you can appear for this exam for the second time also.

1.very good gate score approx 98 percentile.

2.65% marks in Btech.

and one things you should remember gate qualifying score is minimum 80% in every year.

The minimum Percentile for gate Aspirants to get into IIT's is

98-100%

average percentile for your group is 98.5

as you'r percentile is very less don't worry if you don't get this time

give a good try next time.

take good coaching in top institutes.

I think that the minimum score required in the GATE exam for the admission in IIT is above 90%. If you have score above 90% then i think that you are eligible for the admission in the IIT for M.Tech course. For more information about GATE exam please see the website of IIT.

i got 4898 rank(96.446) in gate 2011 ece branch, is there any chances to get into iit? otherwise to nit plese suggest i have no knowledge about it.

i am sure that u ll b getting atleast in nit... cos 96 percentile is a good one...
but the rank makes me think that its gng to b a tough time for u...

IIT-D,B- more den 99 percentile
IIT-KANPUR,CHENNAI,KGP,RKE- more den 98.7
IIT-G- more den 98.5

Hii, you have very good chances of getting in NITs as there are less students, apply in all NITs best of luck.

is there any need BE percentage to take admission in iit or nit?
