What is the minimum qualification to be eligible to appear for the District Collector examination?
Hi, I have completed my B.Sc General Nursing Midwifery (GNM). So, now am I eligible to apply for the District Collector examination? If yes, then let me know when and how can I apply for the entrance? What is the syllabus and exam pattern?

• A candidate must be graduate in any discipline to be eligible to appear in District Collector Examination.
GNM is a Diploma course hence, you are not eligible. |

To become District Collector, you have to appear and qualify in the Civil Service Examination.
The examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted in three stages. So, you need to do preparation for the examination and qualify in all the stages for final selection. For more information about the syllabus and information detail visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

To be a District Collector (often known as District Manager), you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.
The minimum education required to apply for the Civil Services examination is a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Students pursuing final year of their degree course are also eligible. So, having completed your B.Sc. in GNM degree course, you are eligible for appearing in the Civil Services examination as far as the educational requirement for the same examination is concerned. Further, the first stage of the Civil Services examination i.e; Preliminary Test is generally held in the first week of June while the notification for the same examination is released in the February. Candidates are selected for Indian Administrative Services through Civil Services examination. After some years of experience in service, they are given post of District Collector.
Eligibility for exam: 1. You must have done bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final year graduates can also apply. 2. Minimum age required is 21 years. The last date to apply for 2020 exam is over now. You need to wait for next year recruitment. There are three stages namely Preliminary, Mains exam and Personal interview. An IAS officer can become a district collector. IAS examination is conducted by UPSC. So, you need to appear and qualify IAS examination to become a district collector.
IAS Eligibility - You must have passed bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. - Age Limit : 21 to 32 years. Upper age relaxation 3 years to OBC/EWS, 5 years to SC/ST. - Maximum Attempts : 6 for General/EWS category, 9 for OBC And till the age limit for SC/ST.
