Re: What is NET SET exam? What is the criteria and procedure for NET SET exam?
The U.G.C. conducts the National Educational Tests (N.E.T.), for many subjects. The U.G.C. and the C.S.I.R.(Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) conduct combined tests for science subjects. The NET or the combined Tests enables the candidate to receive the Junior Research Fellowship (J.R.F.) of the U.G.C./C.S.I.R. and makes eligible for being appointed as lecturer. UGC NET Exam Eligibility 1.Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks ( without rounding off ) in Master’s Degree.(50% for SC/ST) 2.Final year student are not eligible. 3.you have to appear in the subject of their Post Graduation only. 4.There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility. |

Re: What is NET SET exam? What is the criteria and procedure for NET SET exam?
NET stands for National Eligibility Test. It is conducted for college lectureship. If you want to become lecturer in central government college then it is necessary to pass the National Eligibility Test.
SET means State Eligibility Test, it is same as the NET. The only difference is that SET is conducted by each state of India. For example the state of Gujarat conducts Gujarat SET entrance exam. Once you cleared that, you will get lecturer job in Gujarat government colleges. The criteria for both exams is the same. The University Grants Commission which conducts NET exam, has decided the criteria. Although state level exam is conducted by the State Education Board, it is necessary to meet the criteria decided by the University Grants Commission. You must have completed master degree to appear for these exams. The NET exam is conducted two times in a year. Firstly it is conducted in June and second time it is conducted in December. While SET varies from state to state. Some states like Maharashtra conducts the exam twice on the other hand states like Gujarat conducts it once. Eligibility 1. You should be citizen of India. 2. Must have completed post graduation from a college which is affiliated with UGC. 3. At least 55 percent marks in PG. 4. 50 percent marks are required for SC/ST candidates. 5. Final year students may also apply. 6. But final year students should submit their degree within 2 years. 7. The NET subject for M.Com students would be Commerce. 8. The age limit for JRF is 28 years. 9. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 10. SC/ST are given 5 years relaxation. 11. There is no upper age limit for college lectureship. 12. There is no restriction on number of attempts. |
