Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted by the Centre for Management Services of All India Management Association. MAT is a national level entrance test conducted for the admission of interested candidates into the post graduate management courses which are offered by many management institutes in India. The exam is conducted 4 times in a year. Usually the exam will be held separately in the months of February, May, September and December.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduates in any discipline from any university recognized by UGC are eligible to apply for this exam. Final year candidates can also appear for this exam. There is no age limit for MAT exam.  Similarly, there are no minimum marks required in graduation to appear for this exam.

Application Procedure for MAT

Application process can be carried out in offline as well as online mode.

Offline Application procedure - Candidates who prefer to apply through offline mode are required to make cash payment of Rs. 1200/-. On payment they can collect the application form along with MAT bulletin against. Application form can be obtained from AIMA study centre as well as from selected branches of Bank of Baroda and Axis Bank. Fully filled applications along with supporting documents should be sent to the address mentioned in the MAT bulletin within the allotted time. Late applications will be rejected without intimation.

Online Application procedure - Candidates can apply online from the official website of AIMA. Instructions regarding to the application procedure is given in the website. Online applicants may remit the exam fees in two ways. They can pay the fees by taking a Demand Draft of Rs. 1200/- in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any Bank. Such candidates are required to mention the DD details in the application form. Apart from this, candidates can make online payment with credit cards.

Exam pattern

MAT exam is designed to examine a candidate’s skills and knowledge. Hence no particular curriculum is prescribed for the exam. More over the examination pattern of MAT exam changes from year to year. Questions will be in multiple choice objective type formats. There will be 200 questions which have to be completed within two and half hours. Candidates can expect questions from Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning and Indian & Global Environment Section. Candidates who clear the exam will receive a score card which is valid for one year.
