my gate score is 545 and AIR is 1880 in gate 2012 in electrical engg. what options are open to me? can i apply in NIT's ?

One has to have a good rank in GATE for PSUs or clear ESE exam.
State engineering exams and other AE/JE exams are also good option.



The most common option after qualifying GATE is to persue ME/M.Tech/PhD in NIT, IITS etc

Selection of candidate is done on the basis of GATE scores, they need to qualify GATE cutoff to get into prestigious institution.
They are required to get into CCMT councelling .

For admission to IITS , candidate are required to participate in GATE COAP.
And for this they have to register first.

Many private and state universities admit candidates on the basis of GATE score.
