IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with good Physical Fitness.

The candidate aspiring for IPS should have maintained a minimumprescribed Physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT :- General Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm

CHEST:- Male-85cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.

Weight should be proportionately with the height of a candidate.

Eye should be without optical devise and with good vision.

There should be good listening capability with normal ear cavity.

Blood Pressure should be according to the age of the candidate.

IPS or Indian Police Service is one of the most prestigious services in India next only to the IAS.


Special Physical Requirements for IPS:

candidates appearing for the personality test on clearing the civil services mains exam have to meet certain physical requirements to be eligible for IPS.
  1. Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.)
  2. Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.
  3. Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D
  4. Presence of Squint is a disqualification

Better eye (corrected vision) Worse eye
Distant vision 6/6 or 6/9 6/12 or 6/9
Near vision J1 J2
Corrections permitted spectacles
Color vision requirements High grade
Binocular vision needed Yes

IPS EXAM STANDS FOR INDIAN POLICE SERVICE EXAM.

Height ? Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST
(not the SC/ OBC) ? 160 cm

Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general

Hi

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.To become an IPS officer,you should appear for civil service exam. Civil Service exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year.

You must be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university.
Appearing in the final year of bachelor degree program are also eligible for IPS exam.
You must be a citizen of India.
Your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

Cadidates needs to face three phases of examination.
Prelimianary exam
Main exam
Interview

Physical Fitness Is very Important for IPS Exam.

The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services.

UPSC(Union Public Service Commission conducts civil services examination for the posts of IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS.

The eligibility criteria required for the IPS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any stream from any accredited college or university.

* Final year contenders are also eligible.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders.

* No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and 9 for SC/ST contenders.
