Re: What is procedure for that & what is syllabus for CID exam?
You have not made yourself clear...what is it you are talking of...are you looking for direct recruitment or are you speaking of special crime-/forensic science-related courses. Anyway, I'll try to answer you. CID is the Criminal/Crime Investigation Department of the Police and the recruitments are made from the State Police ranks instead of any specific exams. And if you are talking of Criminology/Correction Management/Forensic Science courses, then you can check with the following institutes/organisations:
Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science, Delhi Dr.Harisingh Gour Vishwa Vidyalaya, Gour Nagar, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh - 470 003 Forensic Sciences Department, "Forensic House", 30-A, Kamarajar Salai, Mylapore, Chennai 600004 University of Delhi, Delhi 110007 Anna University, Chennai 600025 Institute of Criminology & Forensic Science, 4-E Jhandewalan Extn, Rani Jhansi Road, New Delhi 110056 University of Lucknow, Badshah Bagh, Lucknow- 226007 Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, CFIs Complex, Ramanathapur, Hyderabad 500013 Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, CFIs Complex, Sector 36A, Chandigarh 160036 Central Forensic Laboratory, Kolkata, CFIs Complex, 30 Gorachand Road, Kolkata 700014 For course-details, eligibility, etc. you will need to contect these individual institutes. |

Re: What is procedure for that & what is syllabus for CID exam?
The recruitment in the CID doesn't happen often. On occasion, the vacancy comes; it will be notified in the EMPLOYMENT NEWS and on the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) along with the syllabus. http://www.upsc.gov.in/ A one year course in criminology has to be done by you if you are a degree holder. Many universities in India offer this course and it commonly includes Correctional Management, Forensic science and Medicine, Principles of Criminology, Police Administration, Rehabilitation of Criminals etc.
