I want to know that what a qualification of a I.P.S Oficer...pelase send to me what is it

Graduation of the basic qualification required for IPS officer. The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks. Other than this you must qualify certain physical standard requirements also. Visionary standards as well as height, weight etc are mentioned for each category. Detailed information can be collected from the website of UPSC.

IPS stands for Indian Police service.IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

Those candidate have completed graduation degree from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.Need not require any kind of percentage marks in IPS Exam .Final year student are applicable for IPS Exam.

Age criteria :-

Minimum Age = 21 years old
Maximum Age = 30 years old

Age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

No. of Attempts:-

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Dear Rayan,

The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services.

The Indian Police Service is one of the three All India Services civil services of the Government of India.

The IPS is not a law enforcement agency; rather it is a civil service, which is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year, in which officers are selected on the basis of professional merit as proven by competitive examinations, and to which all senior police officers are professionally identified.

Police officers are employed by the police departments of respective states of India.

The eligibility criteria required for the IPS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any track from any accredited college or university.

* Final year contenders are also eligible.

* Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders.

* No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contenders.

* Nationality:- Indian.

The selection procedure for the IPS examination is mentioned as below:-

If you want to apply for the IPS, than apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams.

Below is the eligibility to apply:


Education: Graduation pass in any stream from a recognized university
No minimum percentage of marks is required in Graduation

Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
OBC can apply till 33 years
SC/ST can apply till 35 years

Attempts/Chances: UPSC has also fixed number of attempts
General- 4 times
OBC-7 times
SC/ST-No Restrictions

IPS - Indian Police Service and to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.

Qualification for IPS, Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National.
-Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or passed in any stream of education from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for OBC candidate up to 3 years and for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years.
-Should have possessed good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the candidate should have minimum Physical Requirement such as:-

HEIGHT:- General/OBC Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:- Male-84cm while Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in both the cases.
