Indian Police Service entrance exam is conducted by the union public service commission under the civil services examination every year once.. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.This exam not require any kind of percentage marks in graduation degree .

But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.
In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.
Also you must be citizen of India.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam-

Here i have discussed about Height, Weight and chest for IPS exam.So you must fulfill the below mention requirement.

Height – Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm
Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Blood pressure (High) – Age 23 – 123, age 24 – 124, age 25 –122, age 28 – 124, age 30 –125, age 32 – 126, age 34 – 127.
Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

The eligibility criteria for IPS exam :

Age limit

21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation.

Number of Attempts

Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National. He should have either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University. He should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

Apart from this the candidate has to maintain a minimum physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT:-

For General Male- 165cm and Female-150cm
For SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm

CHEST:-

For Male-85cm and Female-79cm expandable to 5cm in bothy the cases.

The selection is through three stages:-

-CSAT - CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST - PRELIMINARY EXAM
-CIVIL SERVICE MAIN EXAM
-PERSONAL INTERVIEW

IPS stands for Indian Police Service

This Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission

Education Qualification : -

** You must have a bachelor degree from any recognised university

Age : -

Restrictions on applying for the examination :-

A candidates who is appointed to the Indian administrative service or the Indian Foreign Service on the result on an earlier examination and contiues to be an member of that service will not be eligible to complete at this examination

hi,
IPS EXAM STANDS FOR INDIAN POLICE SERVICE.


Procedure to become IPS Officer :

~~ To become IPS Officer, you have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised University.

~~ Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination

~~ Your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
.

~~ There is no Minimum percentage is required to apply for Civil Services examination.

The examination is Conducted in 2 stages : Preliminary examination and Main examination. Firstly you have to cracked the Preliminary examination and there are 2 papers in this examination and both are Objective and those who cracked this examination are eligible for Main examination. Main examination is Descriptive and you have to choose the Optional Subjects for Main examination on the basis of your Graduation.

The Notification of civil services examination will be Published in the month of February. For this year examination Notification was already Published and the last date of apply for the examination was already Over.

For this year examination will be conducted soon on 20/May/2012.

So, If you have completed your Graduation and your age should between 21 to 30 years, then you are eligible for Civil services examination.

So, please prepared well for this examination as per the pattern and syllabus, only then you will be able to cracked this examination. You have to cracked this examination within the given limits and if you have not cracked this examination within the given limits then you cant apply for this examination in future.

IPS is conducted by upsc twice in year
month of june and december.
For applying IPS you should have
complete your graduation with
minimum 55%.
Age limit between 21 to 30 years.
